Air is forced through the drying tower, in it moisture and air contaminants are removed and a small amount of heated air (approx 200°C) is diverted downwards through the regeneration tower where it depressurizes the desiccant bed at a high temperature. Velocity is kept low so that air will be in contact with desiccant for some seconds. The cycle time of this process varies according to regeneration mass flow and temperature.
